New PayCek merchants

PayCek lets a customer pay in crypto while the merchant receives euros in their account. The merchant pays no fee, and Electrocoin earns around 2–2.5% per transaction, paid by the customer¹². This page lists businesses in two counties that sell to consumers and that we did not find among PayCek merchants, with an estimate of what they could bring in.

We chose Varaždin County and Međimurje County because they are developed and have many well-performing businesses. According to the official development index, both rank among the above-average developed counties³, and among consumer-facing businesses alone we found 153 with combined annual turnover of €495.97M.

Why a merchant would sign up

Terms PayCek already offers

No cost to the merchant: the customer pays the fee, and the merchant can choose to cover part or all of it²¹.
Payout in euros: crypto is converted to euros as soon as it arrives, and PayCek automatically pays out to the merchant's IBAN once the balance exceeds a chosen threshold of €30 to €1,000².
No exchange-rate risk: PayCek bears the risk of crypto price changes².

Candidates: Varaždin County

Businesses headquartered in the county that sell to consumers and have at least €200,000 in turnover. The 10 largest are shown and the rest are aggregated. Turnover is total revenue from FINA for 2025, since for these businesses it is mostly sales to customers.

Our searches found no evidence that any of these businesses already accepts PayCek. The list of PayCek merchants²⁴ only loads in the browser, so we could not compare it with these tables automatically.

Deliberately left out: utility companies (Termoplin, Međimurje-plin, Međimurske vode), Gumiimpex-GRP and Ekos Cakes (share of consumer sales unknown), Čakovečki mlinovi (its shops are run by Trgovina Krk from Malinska), Ljekarna Čakovec (public institution), manufacturers without their own shops (Vindija, Koka) and businesses whose consumer sales we could not confirm (e.g. Le'slastice, EZY Infotech, Eko-terra).

Starting point: total 2025 turnover of the 153 candidates is €495.97M, of which €264.23M is in Varaždin County and €231.75M in Međimurje County.
Assumptions: PayCek signs up some of the businesses, and at those businesses part of turnover is paid through PayCek. You can set both shares with the sliders. The defaults are 30% of businesses and 5% of turnover.
Revenue: PayCek's fee of 2–2.5% on that turnover¹. The merchant receives the full amount, so the fee is Electrocoin's revenue.

Turnover = candidates' turnover (€495.97M) × share of businesses × share paid via PayCek. Revenue = turnover × 2% (lower bound) to turnover × 2.5% (upper bound). Comparison with Electrocoin: net revenue in 2025 was €1.18M, around €98,000 a month²⁵, and we estimate turnover at around €4.9M a month²⁶. The share of businesses is applied to total turnover, as if the businesses joining were of average size.

What to watch out for

The share of turnover paid via PayCek is an assumption, not a measured figure. It depends on how many of these businesses' customers hold crypto and want to pay with it.
Car dealerships make up around 22% of the candidates' turnover, and Ljekarna Salus, Auto-Ivec and Jakopić each account for around €20M. The result depends heavily on whether the largest businesses sign up.
Calzedonia Croatia is part of an international group, so the decision is probably not made by local management.
The list relies on public data. It includes companies and sole traders that we found and whose turnover is publicly reported. Sole traders without public data and businesses below €200,000 in turnover are not included, so the actual number of candidates is higher.
